    Decembrist Revolt
    A small group of nobles and army officers try to overthrow the Czar. They hoped to set up a constitutional monarcy. This lead to the revoultion because the people tried to overthrown the Czar.

    Czar Alexander II emancipated the serfs. Serfs gained few political rights. They were allowed to keep their homes and tools.

    The Russian People went to the czar and asked for more freedoms. The czar told his troops to fire on the crowd. This led to revolution because innocent people were killed by the czar's orders.

    Russia entered WWI on the allies side. They suffered a horrible defeate. This was one of the final straws for the russian people. They blamed the czar for losing the war.

    People start to rebel in the factories. Soldiers were told to end the riots, but joined the people on strike intead. This was the very last step towards revoultion and the end of the czar in Russia.

    After the strikes, the riots, and everything else, the czar finaly steps down. Duma takes over and sets up the provisional government. There is no more czar in Russia.
