    The Great Northern War
    The Great Norhtern war started in 1700 and ended in the year of 1721.This war was fought between Charles XII and Peter the Great. In the end Swedan lost their supremacy as the leading power. This war had a lot of distinct phases. some of these phases include;Treaty of Stockholm in November 1719

    Treaty of Nystad in Aug/Sept 1721
  • The Decembrist Revolt

    The Decembrist Revolt
    This happened when a small group of army officers tried overthrowing the czar's government. Their goal was to set up a constitutional monarchy. The decembrist revolt was when Czar Nicholas I crushed the uprising. Nicholas executed five leaders and exiled hundreds more to Siberia. Those leaders late became heros to the later generations.Nicholas responded to this with brutal repression. He made strict new rules including; strict censorship. A lot of people did not like Nicholas as a leader.

    Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs
    Czar Alexandra II sropke to the gentry of Moscow and asked to free the serfs. He described this event as greater freedom of the press and thought. He shared with his father that slavery was inhumane. He was the first Czar to stand of and free the serfs. These serfs gained a few political rights and were allowed to keep their homes and tools. they had to buy their land at high prices. most peasants lived in poverty because of the high taxes. The serfs were let free but they had a lot of conflicts
  • The Assassination of Alexander II

    The Assassination of Alexander II
    The assasination happened in February 1880. He was killed in the streats of St. Petersburg. It all started out when a bomb was thrown at him by a member of the revolutionary "People's Will" group. This group wanted to overthrow Russia's Czarist autocracy. They made several other attempts on trying to assassinate him. Then on March 13, 1881 they killed Alexander II.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    Thousands of men. woman, and children were all at this march that was organised to protest against the continuation of internment. Father Georgi Gapon wanted this to be a peaceful march. The people carried banners of the czar and his wife. British Troops opened fire during the cival rights march in Londondery. These British troops shot without the thought of what they were doing. They were shooting the innocent people. This event caused a lot of shock during this time period.

    The people of Russia were calling for a change in Russia. This startted out when troops opened fire on January 9th, 1905. This Revoltion caused a lot of changes in Russia. What marked the start of th Revolution of 1905 was the event of Bloody Sunday. Czar the Nicholas issued the October Manifesto. That brought an end to the Revolution of 1905.

    This war began with the Japanese Navel attack on Port Arthur. Japan imposed a severe treaty when the when they won against the Chinese Empire.France and Germany were pursuaded by Russia in joining diplomatic pressure on the Japanese. After that japan got obliged.In the end, the Russian's beleived thta they were the most powerful.Japan beleive they could win a small loclized war but
  • The March Revolution

    This evenht occured in Russsia during WWI. 90,000 people were protesting at the shortage of fuel and bread. By the end of the week 400,000 other members joined thius group. The Czar banned proteswting and sent out the military to shoot those who were protesting. Eventually the Czar and his family were sent to house arresnt and finally were executed.

    Czar Nicholas II Abdicates the Russian Throne
    Nicholas II was forced to abdicate when when the army garrison joined the striking workers in demanding socialist and reforms. Riots erupted in Petrograd. People were protesting the war and shortage of food. They yelled "Bread and Peace". These demonstrations began spreading and the government sent troops to restore order.These soldiers refused to fire on the crowds and later then decided to join protesters . Czar Nicholas I abdicated only a week after all of this protesting happened.

But Russias transformation systems were weak. Russia had a lot of losses too.Citizens were starving, This war had so many cons that Russia shouldn't even of gotten involved.
