    A law by Mexican leader Escalada to stop the flow of immigrants as a warning to T`eran .
    It was also a meeting place for discussion.
  • Battle of Velasco

    Battle of Velasco
    The first dispute between Mexico and the Texas settlers. Henry Smith and Austin attack Fort Velasco which is now Freeport, Texas. They fought until June 29, 1832, when Ugartechea, the Mexican general surrenders.

    The Texans wanted changes in the the Mexican government so they met in San Felipe on October 1st. 'They debated about money for private schools,immigrants coming to Texas and the separation of Texas between Mexico.
    It failed but they scheduled another meeting for the spring.

    The Texans came back to San Felipe for the second time on April 1st. This time things were more aggressive, Austin presented but then got put in jail for presenting about a new constitution.

    Santa Anna and his men of 5000 had broken through the Alamo overwhelming the tiny Texas army. They used cannons and artillery guns and the Mexicans finally won.

    A surprise attack by Santa Anna with the Texans being out numbered. It was a 13 day long battle against Mexico . It lasted until march 6th and the Texan men had all died.
  • Goliad Massacre

    In March 1836 Santa Anna and his more than 5,000 men marched into San Antonio fighting against the Texans until the 27th. The Texans surrendered and then taken as prisoners there to be burned.

    It is the last battle in the war and the Texans capture Santa Anna and finally gain freedom.This battle was won by Sam Houston.
