The canal was an excellent and important invention used to transport goods and to progress the industrial revolution. With the Bridgewater Canal being constructed and fully operational, many other canals followed suit. This shows the successful spread of ideas as many other people started using Canals to transfer goods and to help cheapen their production of goods.

This helped spread ideas as more and more people started using the Spinning jenny to produce textiles and other goods.

    Samuel Slater was an apprentice to Jedediah Strutt ( partner of Richard Arkwright) and had thorough knowledge of cotton manufacturing. This helped the spread of ideas of the industrialization as he was able to spread cotton manufacturing to America and firmly established a number of cotton mills in the United States. Although, he had to be secretive because British law did not allow export of textile machinery blueprints.

    The downfall of the Bastille encouraged the spread of ideas by providing a symbol for the rest of France, and eventually the rest of the revolution. The Bastille was originally a symbol of the King’s oppression. With the violent storming of the Bastille, the symbol was taken down and it inspired many to revolt on the King. This spread ideas by spreading courage among the commoners and the idea of revolution towards the edges of France.

It also spread the idea of a famine throughout France (known as the Great Fear) : which mobilized many townspeople and peasants across France.

The wars spread those revolutionary ideas as soldiers marched through conquered land, they spread ideas of French nationalism and revolutionary ideals. As the wars of the coalition happened, more and more ideas were spread throughout Europe. Most of these ideas were Revolutionary and of French Nationalism.

This resulted in the French Revolutionary Wars. This helped spread ideas by sending a beacon throughout Europe that France has sacked its monarchy and this led to wars (which spread ideas through soldiers and occupation) and many other countries aspiring to take revenge for the dead King.

It spread ideas by giving companies new material, and thus new ideas on how to use the material to benefit their company. This could be seen in the drop in price of steel and its popularity in being used as a construction material.
