Hitler begins to rearm German armed forces. He adds more troops, builds planes, and ships to strengthen Germany. This violates the Treaty of Versailles but no one says anything. -

Saturday Surprise #2
Hitler takes over the Rhineland with his army. This is an area of land that is a buffer between France and Germany. Taking this land over completely violates the Treaty of Versailles. Yet again, no one speaks out to stop Hitler's outrageous actions. -
Taking Austria
Hitler takes over Austria to complete the unification of Austria and Germany or Anschluss. He intimidates the Austrian Prime Minister with threats and outbursts of rage. Then, after the Nazis take Austria, they are voted in by the people who think it would be great if Germany and Austria were united. -
Appeasing Hitler
World leaders try to appease Hitler and his demands for territory to avoid another world war. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and French Prime Minister Edouard Daladier go to Munich to talk with Hitler. They end up giving Hitler Czechoslovakia to appease him, but all the deal does is make Hitler's conqeusts easier. -
Death Threats and Broken Promises
Hitler breaks his promise of not wanting any more territory after Czechoslovakia. He ends up wanting to take Poland and the former German land that is in the country. After this, Neville Chamberlain and the French threatened Hitler with war if he took Poland. -
Targeting Poland
Hitler and the Nazis set up a fake attack scene on the German-Polish border. WWII starts with the invasion and conquest of Poland the following September. After this, the Nazis target Poland and its Jews and the beging to exterminate all Jews. -

Conquests in the East
During these conquests all Jews and millions of Poles were deported to eastern Poland called the "General Government of Poland". Then the education of all Polish children stopped at fourth grade and they were only taught simple skills and how the Nazis were superior. Finally, all Jews and Poles in the countryside were sent to cities and all Jews were made to wear a yellow star. This was the "aryanization" of Poland. -

Conquests in the West
Hitler conquers Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg. While Britain continued to fight Germany, Europe was completely changed by the Nazis. Government, social systems, and the way people were treated was changed. Many Jews were unfairly treated and anti-semitism was everywhere. The "aryanization" of Poland was now happening in the West in this time period. -

The Invasion of Russia
Russia is invaded to "destroy the Jewish-Bolshevik menace" as Hitler said. During this invasion, the Nazis systematically killed all enemies of the Nazis such as Jews or educated people. Finally, the Jews in Russia were ordwered to be killed along with all the Soviets, and thousands of other peoples in the countries around Russia. -
The United States Enters the War
The United States decalres war on Japan and the allies of Japan. Now, Hitler had to fight Russia, Britiain, and the U.S. He did not back down from this fight and could have not fought the United States, but he did.
