    The Spanish Armada was defeated by the English Navy, which was lead by Sir Francis Drake. On July 29, Sir Francis Drake sent eight burning ships to the Spanish harbor. The Spanish, panicked, sailed all their boats out to sea, away from the fire. When the Spanish sailed away from the fire and into the sea, the English Navy was waiting for them, ready to attack. Thus the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
