Invented the first steam-powered pump. The boiler could not produce enough pressure for it to go higher then 6 meters with out it exploding. This is related a pump jack. -
Newcomen
He used a boiler boils water to make steam to move a piston to go into a different pump. The hot steam would make the piston move upwards and the cold water that was sprayed allowed the piston to retract to its normal state. It resembles pump jack and used pistons. -
Watt
He designed a new and more efficient steam engine. This would cool the steam; however, the boiler cylinder would remained hot.Since the amount of heat used to make this engine work was reduce greatly, it made the engine three times more efficient. This engine resembles a power jack.
