I interviewed for this job August 30 and started work September 5 at PS/IS 187where I taught a group of 20 remediated 5th graders all subjects except science. A challenging year.

Began the first team in our school. A sixth grade of 150. Our team of 5 teachers ordered furnature, created a schedule, and aligned our curriculum. An awesome experience like no other.

I was admitted into the administrators training program. An intense 2 years of study under the district Supperintendent. I had to take a two week leave during the last class to deliver my son. Oh, what an exciting time.

I began my internship as a "grade advisor/dean". This position allowed me to have an abreviated teaching schedule and tend to the many duties of my internship. The most challenging assignment was testing.

My daughter was born in November 1998. I resigned my postion from the New York City Public School System as of January 1, 1999. I spent the next year and a half at home with the kids...also challenging work.

I interview with Mr. Mel Combs for a permanent substitute position at Woodhull Elementary, a 6th grade building. Began work in April...the toughest time of the year.

I was hired to teach 6th grade science at Woodhull. I was placed on a four man team where we were to teach Reading and our assigned subject area. I was confident about reading but had NEVER taught science before.

William Floyd opened a NEW Middle school. I was transferred here from Woodhull. I taught here for the first time in LAB setting. So much room and I love it.

Currently I teach 6th grade science. I see 147 students per day. Additional to my reagular teaching schedule I facilitate our school's PBIS Team and am the Yearbook Advisor. I plan to retire from Floyd in about 10 years. So if you need to find me you know where...Life is Good.

I am currently in my 12th year at William Floyd, 20th overall. I teach 6th grade science facilitate the PBIS committee and am the school yearbook advisor. My own children are in high school now and I plan to finish out my career right where I am. Life is Good!
