Russian Army led 3,000 to revolt against Nicholas the first, who assumed the positin after his older brother stepped down from the thrown. -
Alexander II Emacipates the serfs
Allexander did a lot of things for Russia durring his riegn, and perhaps the most important thing that he did was emacipating the sefs. This gave serfs new rghts such as being able to own land, and he also lowered taxes which gave the serfs more food. -
Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
Nicholas II was maried to Alix and Together they had five children. He was a great Father to his chldren, but never took his positin seriously. it seemed as if all he did was play. he was not responsable for Russia. -
Social-Democratic Labor Party splits into two groups.
When the SDLP splits in1903 it formed two groups called the Bolshevicks and the Menshevicks. The Bolshevicks were the majority and was made up of mostly serfs, and middle class people. The Menshevicks were mostly made up of higher class people, therefore the numbers were not that great on their side. -
The Russo-Japanese War
The Russo-Japanese War was the first major of the nineteenth centry. Casualties only on the Russians side total up to over fifty thousand People. Woonded soldiers total up to even more. In the end Russia won, and defeeted the Japanse. -
Bloody Sunday
Unarmed protesters marched towards Nicholas II Winter palace, and were met with armed forces and fired upon. With no reason The czar sent his army to kill inosent people. All they wanted was food, land, and peace. -
The Revolution of 1905
The Revolution of 1905 was an overflow of political and social unrest that spread quickly across the country. It lead to Russia's Constitution in 1906. -
Russia in WWI
Russia joined the good guys side in WWI and fought hard. They were one of the main countries involved in the war, and helped contribute to the win. -
The March Revolution.
The March revolution was very brife, but was not peaceful. there were people on the streets with guns, and other weapons demonstrating their own power. -
Nicholas II abdicates the throne
Nicholas II abdicates the throne on March 15th stating the end of the czar rulers. He is forced out of powerer. Later that summer he was punt into the governers suite, where his family would be held captive until august 1918. -
Alexander Kerensky becomes leader of the ne provisional gov.
When Korensky Took office as the first Provisional gov. leader. Before he won the spot as the leader of Russia he was a lawyer, a major political speaker, and the minister of war. His ministery did not last long though due to the Bolshevic party. -
Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks capture the Winter Palace.
Vladimir Lenin takes the Bolsheviks and captures the Winter Palace. This overthrows the provisional gov. and put them on top. Lenin than assumes power over Russia. -
Execution
In the summer of 1918 Nicholas II and his family are taken to the bacement of there house, and killed to prevent an further rule by the czars. Everyone in the family dies. -
Civil war begins
Russias Civil war was fought between the Bolsheviks and the Mansheviks. the Bolshevics had the numbers, and the Mansheviks had the money. In the end the Red (Bolsheviks) won and the white (Mansheviks) lost. -
Vladimir Lenin dies and Josef Stalin becomes leader of the Soviet Union
After Lenin dies Josef Stalin takes office. Durring his reign he gets Russia the win for WWI, but is responsible for killing more people than Hitler. There are mixed feelings if Stalin is good or bad.
