Chinese Revolution Timeline

  • People's Republic of China

    The People's Republic of China is started by Mao Tse-tung in Beijing. This signals the begining of the Communist Party in China. The Soviet Union recognized the group a day later.
  • The Treaty of Friendship, Alliance, and Mutual Assistance

    China and The Soviet Union both sign the TFAMA. This helped protect China from Japan.
  • Agrarian Reform Law

    The Agrarien Reform Law was passed my Mao to give the peasants the land and animals they were promesed. This caused former Landlords to fear for their lives. They were punished for their crimes and many were executied.
  • Marrage Reform Law

    All forced marrages were banned.
  • China is Declared to be an Aggressor

    The UN voted that Chinas acts in North Korea during the Korean War were a threat to the UN. This brought international attention to Chinas government and weopenry was abned from being shiped there.

    Three-Anti and Five-Anti

    A series of campains that were ment to rid Chiniese cities of enemies of the state. The first one was ment to rid the COmmunist Party itself of any traiters and the second ones goal was mostly focused on capitilism and people breking the law in a business enviorment.

    Socialism

    During this time the government was focused on making China more indrustrialized and to make farmers use more modern methods. They based a lot of what they did off of the Soviet Union.
  • State Control

    All priviot business were put under the control of the state.
  • Great Leap Forward

    A plan made to increase China's indrustrial and agracultural pruduction. Though floods and bad harvests brought an end to this.
  • Return to Power and Cultural Revolution

    Mao attempted to gain back power that he had lost by getting China's young population on his side. He convinced then that officals in China were trying to bring in capitalism and that it was their duty to stop it.
  • Mao Dies

    Mao dies at age 82 in Beijing.
