    • Christianity was one of the main religions in the vast Roman Empire.
    • In 63 B.C., the Romans conquered the Jewish homeland of Judea.
    • The Roman senate appointed a new ruler of Judea named Herod, in 37 B.C.
    • When Jesus was born, he started teaching different kinds of Christian beliefs such as, there is only one God.
    • When the people crucified Jesus, he rose from the dead and told disciples to spread his teachings. That's how Christianity spread.
