    Hitler attempts an uprise against government which is known as the Beer Hall Putsch. This uprising failed, and was immediately put down and Hitler is sent to prison. Due to this, Hitler begins to re-think his ideas.

    The Schutzsraffeln, or SS, which was originally Hitler's bodygaurd, grew to be the police force, led by Hienrich Himmier. The SS served as a terror in Germany, causing fear in all those who opposed Nazi Rule.

    Hitler realizes that, to gain power, he and the Nazi party need to gain power by legal means, not by a sudden overthrow of the government. This is significant because this is when Hitler gains significant political power in Germany.

    Unemployment rates dramatically increase to 4.35 milion and continues to grow. Due to unemplyment rates Hitler gained popularity by saying he would get rid of unemploymet if he was elected. The German economy started getting better by the time Hitler was in office his policies did help the economy but as much as Hitler had promised.

    The limited power of the reichstag leads the Nazi's to seize for control. Nazi party now has power in politics. This allows Hitler to gain political power and support, eventually leading to his complete control of Germany. Within 2 months, Hitler has laid a foundation for the Nazi Party's complete control over Germany. Not only did Hitler want to establish a totalitarian state but he had a larger goal to dominate all of Europe.

    President Hidenburg agrees to allow Hitler to become chancellor and create a new goverment. This would be a turning point for germany and the world as Hitler wanted to get rid of current politics and make a one-party state, ruled by the Nazi Party.

    The Nazi Party sets up concentration camps for people who oppesed the nazi communists. Germany later used these camps to hold their prisoners of war such as the Jews, Homosexuals, Poles, Slavs, Serbs, Romany gyspys, and also the mental and physcally disabled. The Prisoners in these camps were treated harshly and unfairly.

    Two thirds of the Reichstag passed the Enabling Act which was a power to ignore the constituition to better thier economy. The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to become a dictator, appointed by the government itself.

    The Nazi party announces new radical laws; The Nuermburg laws. These two racial laws excluded the Jews from German life, as well as taking away some of their natural rights.

    Kristallnacht "Night of the Shattered Glass" was when the Nazi's burned down churches, destroyed 7,000 Jewish businesses, killed 100 Jews, rounded and sent 30,000 male Jews to concentration camps, and forced Jews to clean up the disaster. The Kristallnacht leads to the prohibition of Jews. They are blocked from all public buildings and transportation, prohibited from owning, managing or working, and are encouraged to emigrate from Germany.
