In 1829, Gen Mier Y Teran was sent to inspect Texas settlements of Anglo Americans. He recommends to send more troops, encourage Mexican and European settlers, and to strengthen trade between Texas and Mexico.

As a result of the Mier Y Teran Report, this decree declared to outlaw immigration from the U.S, to encourage European and Mexican colonist to come to Texas, to have tax goods from the U.S, new forts with more soldiers, No Americans living near the U.S border, and No more salvery which impacted the Americans.

In 1832 Bradburn arrests Travis for protesting when other Americans tried to rescue him, they wrote the Turtle of Bayou Resoltions to explain why they attacked Anahuac and to prove their loyalty to Santa Anna.

In 1832, Santa Anna fought in the revoltion and won. He was a member of the Federalist party and people saw him as a hero instead of president Bustamante.

Santa Anna became president and they decided to have a convention and decided to elect Stephen F. Austin as president They made an agreement to support slavery, renew immigration, make Texas a separate state, and to get taxes from the imported goods. The next year they elect ed Sam Houston but he only wanted to make one different change, he wanted to write a constitution.

In 1834 Stephen F. Austin tried to meet with Santa Anna but he had gone to win or start a revolution so instead, he wrote a letter to the people of Texas suggesting to go ahead and form a state government. He finally got a chance to discuss with Santa Anna and he asked him for Texas to be its own state but, Santa Anna refused. When he got back home he was surprised to be thrown in jail for committing treason. Later he started a war against Santa Anna.

The Texians started to get upset about Taxes being collected from goods, it angered General Martin and demanded the arrest of Travis. They decided to have a meeting and then Stephen F. Austin told Texans to prepard for war.
