    One of the presidents of Mexico, Vicente R. Guerrerero issued this law which abolished slavery throughout Mexico and Texas. The Texans rejected the idea and didn't want their state to be included in this law so it wasn't. They did this by petitioning.

    This law was made to stop the rising amount of people coming to Mexico. It abolished slavery which made most people question themselves before they came to Mexico. This was introduced throughout all of Mexico and Stephen F Austin objected and reduced the impact of this on Texas by complaining to the vice president of Mexico at the time.

After doing so and starting back home he was arrested under suspicion of trying to incite insurrection in Texas. He stayed In prison for a year and was released later but not allowed to leave Mexico City.

This didn't go as planned because the anglo settlers refused to follow Bradburn's orders and in the end an exchange of hostages for settlers occurred.

    The Convention of 1832 was held at San Felipe de Austin after the Anahauc disturbance ,the battle of velasco and turtle bayou and stephen austin was elected by 55 delegates to modify the april 1830 law

    This convention was held at San Felipe and during this convention the delegates proposed statehood for Texas and William H. Wharton was the head of this petition. Texans were starting to have enough and didn't want to be controlled by Mexico anymore. In the end this was proposed by sending SFA to Mexico to present all of these things.

    The consultation was a debate between two sides. one wanted independence and the other which was led by SFA wanted to still be a part of Mexico. This debate was also held at San Felipe. Later the consultation established a provisional government which was based on the constitution of 1824. Sam Houston was also named commander of the army.
