    Uniting of the Franks
    The Franks were germanic tribes. The two major divisions were the Salian Franks in the north and the Ripuarian Franks in the south. The two groups expanded. They sometimes united against the a common enemy. The Frankish tribes were united under the Merovingians. During the 6th century they succeeded in conquering most of Gaul and they spreaded Christianity over western Europe and had created one of the strongest and most stable post-roman kingdoms.

    The Battle of Hastings occured durnig the Norman conquest of england. This battles was inbetween the Norman-French army of Duke William II of Normandy and the English army under King Harold II. Harold II was killed in this battle.

    The Crusades were a series of Holy Wars by the Christians. The Crusades started when Pope Claremont preached the First Crusade at the Council of Claremont. It led to many affixing the cross to their garments. The Cursades got the name cursades from the old French word "crois" meaning cross.

    Bubonic Plague - Black Death

    The Black Death was a diease that killed many people, When you had the Black Death you would give off an odor. Some people would put flowers in their pockets thinking it would either make you not get the diease or just make the terrible smell go away. Once you would die from this diease your body would be piled up in the street with others and then burned. When burned the ashes would go threw the air and kill more people.

    The Great Schism was the split between the Eastern and Western Christian Churches. The relations between the Greek speaking (Eastern) and the Latin speaking (Western) traditions within the Christian Church came to a crisis. This crisis led to the spilt.

    Gergory expanded the authority of the pacacy (pope's office). This man is is known for his writings. He was also know as the “the Father of Christian Worship”. He became the Pope on September 3rd 590. He was the Pope for 14 years.

    Charles was on born on August 23rd 686. He was a Frankish military and political leader. He served as Mayor of the Palace. In 739 he was offered the title Consul by the Pope, but he refused. He died on October 22nd 741.

    Louis left his empire to all three of his sons who eventually just split the land. later on the boys realized they couldnt handle it and it began to fall. Without a central autority or a stong leadership the empire weakens.

He was ruler of the Franks for 47 years, He served the last 14 years of his life as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
