    Emperor Constantine I founded the Byzantine Capitol
    When Rome fell apart and was conquered, Constantine shifted the base of Rome east. He renamed the city after himself, Constantinople. Constantinople then became the capitol of new Rome.

    General Belisarius military campaigns
    Belisarius went to North Africa, Italy, and the southern Iberian Peninsula. They had to go there even though Rome had already conquered these places because they aren't giving any more profit to Byzantine so they needed to reconquer these places.

    Three people were to be hanged, two escaped and hid in a home. People asked Justinian to show them mercy. The rioters then set fire to the Praetorium. Justinian announced more races and then rioters set fire to the Hippodrome.

    Constantinople had a fire which took out most of the city. Justinian tried to make the city great again, so he rebuilt this church. The building had colored marble and embroidered silk curtains.

    The muslim went from Palestine to North Africa to Spain. They then went into France. They tried to concur the Christians but the Christians beat them, so the muslims went no further west into Europe. Muslims caused anxiety and fear in Byzantine. The Christians ended up learning math and science from the Muslims.

    This is the permanent split between east and west Christianity. The church on the east side was Eastern Orthodox Church. The church on the west side was the Roman Catholic. The two sides remained guarded and distant. Many differences grew between the two, popes are okay in the west, and patriarchs are used in the east

    Emperor Alexius I contacts Pope Urban II for military help in the Middle East
    Seljuks took over the Holy Land of Christians. Christians were angry at the Seljuks. Emperor Alexius I asked Pope for Christians knights to fight the Seljuks and gain their Holy Land back.

    The Crusaders attempted to concur Jerusalem. Crusaders didn't have money to pay Venice. An old leader bribed the Crusaders saying that he would be able to pay it if he became king. When he got on the throne, he couldn't pay. The Crusaders were mad and killed him and they also attacked Constantinople

    Fall of Constantinople to the Ottomon Turks (official end to Byzantine)
    Byzantine was falling apart and Ottoman was growing stronger. Ottomans carried their ships over the land and put them in a harbor outside Constantinople. The ships blew cannons through the defensive wall and the city became the new Ottoman empire.

    Emperor Basil II military conquests of Bulgaria
    Basil and Bulgaria fought for 28 years, only to stop a little in the middle. Basil got help from Venetian and slowly crept on to Bulgaria's land. He then conquered Bulgaria's capital and blinded every person of Bulgaria's army except for every 100th person, they were left one eye.
