    Emperor Constantine founded the Byzantine Capitol
    The Byzantine capitol was founded in 330 A.D. It was the largest and richest urban center in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea for its time. Traded with many other ancient tribes for goods, crops, and building materials. Declined eventually due to plague's which claimed many lives and caused people to move out and join other ciies or even civilizations.

    Nika revolt
    The Nika Revolt took place over a week of pure rioting in Constantinople. It is the most dangerous riot to ever happen in Constantinople in its time of activity. It burned over half the city, and killed tens of thousands of people.

    General Belsarius started his campaigns in 533 A.D. He was considered the best general after Caesar for winning so many battles with such limited resources. He campaigned for three years non-stop to win peoples attention and proved to be a great general. He eventually died in a batlle in a city called Chalcedon.

    Hagia Sophia completed
    The construction began in 532 to build the Hagia Sophia. The building was built out of the fact of the Nika riots and is a symbol of that. Six years later the building is finished and in use in the year 537.

    The Fourth Crusade
    The Fourth Crusade was originally an armed expedition to conquer muslim lead Jerusalem by means of attack or invasion through and throughout Egypt. However on there way to Jerusalem, most of the crusader leaders made an agreement with the Byzantine Prince (Alexios Angelos) to change directions and attack the city Constantinople(the Byzantine Empire). In the end after many fights, the men got to the glory land. But only about a tenth of the men actually lived and saw it.

They had so much land at the beginning and a strong military force but what happened was to defend all of that land they had to stretch that military out. And what happened was all those lands got conquered by other groups with larger numbers and basically ran there military down to a little tiny area of land left in the empire.
