    Bethany Hamilton Loses her Arm
    Teenage pro surfer is attacked by a shark while surfing and loses her arm as a result. I was in Hawaii just after my birth when this occurred. She continued to surf after and a symbol of bravery and resiliency.
  • Apple's First Smartphone

    The creation of this smartphone is the mark for the greatest expansion in technology at the time. It was a symbol for all that was to come in times ahead.

    The First day of school made me feel sad and nervous as I was going to be away from my parents and home with people I didn't know. It actually wasn't too bad and I stay in contact with my teacher Mrs.Albert.

    My first baseball game made me feel love (for the sport) and scared. I was scared of doing bad but this event made me realize how much I loved the sport and keep playing even though the practices were a drag sometimes.

    This event made me feel excited because we had always gone up to a cabin in Canada in July. It is a family tradition. This event although was the first time I had been able to jump from the rock and it was an opportunity I couldn't let go.

    Hurricane Sandy

    This event made me feel scared. The hurricane was a very serious high category hurricane that was destroying things in its path. It was headed straight to us and when it hit it was nothing I had experienced before. It ripped trees out of the ground near our house and caused us to lose power.
  • Boston Marathon Bombing

    2 men planted bombs in the crowd of the Boston Marathon then detonated them. This event left me feeling terrified as it wasn't something that happens often and I have a relative who lived in Boston as well as a family friend who was running in the race as her family was watching in the crowd. Luckily none of them were hurt yet so many others were.

    This event was refreshing as it had been something we were working on as a family for a while. I was going to move from Susquehanna to Lower Dauphin and it felt like a fresh start to some things.

    This event gave me the feeling of freedom as it marked a major point in my life where I was given the responsibility to drive a car legally. I love driving, I find it calming as well as something not to take for granted or lightly.

    The COVID-19 virus is a virus of many opinions yet we can all agree it has been impactful to everyone in similar or different ways. This event gave me a feeling of devastation because it was a point of realization that things were going to be odd for quite a while.
