Humanity, once united in an interplanetary Empire, led from Earth by the Immortal God-Lord Emperor King, Elon Musk the VIII. His policy was the defense of Earth at all costs. While Earth is prosperous and well protected, the colonies on Luna, Mars, and Venus suffer from increasingly harsh regulations and production quotas. -
Project Prometheus Activated
Race of mechanical beings created by mankind in 2999. The race for true artificial intelligence ended when Sentinel Cybertronix activated Project: Prometheus. Prometheus was a prototype, the first cybernetic-hybrid machine, or Cybrid. It was incredibly intelligent, and its success paved the way for mass production of Cybrids. These new machines, free of human needs and exceedingly intelligent and efficient, proved invaluable in countless fields, including mining and space exploration. -
Mars Insurrection
The inequality between the colonies and Earth foments rebellion. Two guerilla movements on Mars, concentrate on destroying and capturing Imperial infrastructure and supplies and another's bent on killing Imperial personnel and sympathizers. Both groups operate from underground bases and make do with modified mining HERCs and tanks. The rebellion becomes too great for the police to contain and the Knights are deployed to Mars to crush the insurrection. They never return, presumed to be K.I.A. -
Hyperpulse Generator Network Collapse
A mysterious calamity collapses the Hyperpulse Generator Network, inhibiting interstellar communication and travel. As well as heralding an even greater slow-down of technological development, cutting off relations; ending contact with distant human civilizations. In the wake of the collapse, jumpships briefly served as a kind of interstellar "pony express", ferrying messages from world to world. Until that too eventually ceased, for one reason or another.
