    The first Manned flight to mars is launched in ohio.
  • Ylla

    The landing of the humans on mars is foreseen in the dreams of Ylla, a young martian woman. Her jealous husband destroys the humans and their rocket as they land.
  • The Summer Night

    The second human landing on mars is foreseen by many martian women in their dreams.
  • The Earth Men

    The 2nd expedition of mars lands. The men are confused by the martians for insane martians and euthanized. Nobody is aware of their fate.
  • The Taxpayer

    The Third Expedition shuttle is launched. A disgruntled taxpayer is arrested for attempting to interfere with the launch. There is talk of nuclear war on earth.
  • The Third Expedition

    The third expedition lands on mars. The martians, prepared for their arrival, devise a deadly trap. They project their memories onto the landscape and pose as dead relatives to seperate and disarm them. The martians then kill the crew. Nobody on Earth is aware of their fate.
  • -And The Moon be Still As Bright

    The Fourth Expedition lands on mars. They discover the Martians have died from a outbreak of chicken pox spread by the third expedition. A traitor among the crew attempts to systematically kill off the crew in an attempt to prevent human colonization, but is stop by the captain and his crew. The Fourth Expedition is successful and mars is open to american colonization.
  • The Settlers

    A small amount of colo0nists begin to settle mars.
  • The Green Morning

    A man is hired to plant trees on mars. After planting thousands of seeds, it rains on mars. The properties of the soil and rain on mars allow the trees to grow to full size in a matter of hours. The oxygen level on mars is improved as a result.
  • The Locusts

    Large amounts of settlers flock to mars and begin to build cities. 12 towns in were buit and more settlers were on their way.
  • Night Meeting

    A man traveling through an old martian city at night encounters a martian from, seemingly, a different period of time. The 2 appear intangible to one another. They each claim to see a different landscape, and are unable to agree. They eventually go on their seperate ways. No other contacts like this are documented.
  • The Shore

    A second wave of American colonists arrive on mars, this time ordinary citizens searching for a new beginning.
  • The Fire Balloons

    Religious figures come to mars to spread the word to the humans, but discover a 2nd species of martian in the form of orbs of fire. Upon attempting to witness to them, they discover they are transcended beings that are beyond religion and sin. The preachers then turn their attention to the colonies on mars.
  • The Musicians

    A tenth town is built on mars as new settlers arrive. Churches are established on mars.

    Children play in the old martian cities, before cleaning crews arrive to clear out the martians corpses that lay within. They remove all the corpses across the planet.
  • The Wilderness

    2 Women prepare to travel to mars to meet their husbands in the colonies. They ponder how times have changed and struggle to accept leaving Earth.
  • The Naming of Names

    From 2035 to 2036 more towns are established and proper names are given to the colonies and locations on mars. Government official begin to regulate mars and its people.
  • Usher II

    A wealthy eccentric constructs a replica of the House of Usher on mars and populates it with robotic entities from literature. Due to a strict, "no imagination law," he is visited by a government official who he has killed. He invites high ranking officials to a costume party in the house, and systematically kills them off based on deaths from literature, mainly Poe's work. He replaces the officials with robots at the party and then seals the last guest inside a wall. Then the house falls apart.
  • The Old Ones

    Old people are allowed to come to mars.
  • The Martian

    A martian impersonates an elderly couples dead son in order to feel loved and have a home. The family goes to town, where the martian is caught in a habit of impersonating dead people from the memories of various settlers. He is eventually mobbed and overloads his shapeshifting skill and dies.
  • The Luggage Store

    A luggage store owner prepares his shelves for a predicted exodus back to earth in the wake of an expected nuclear war.
  • The Off Season

    A member of the Fourth expedition opens a hot dog stand in the middle of nowhere, expecting a large migration from earth. He encounters a remnant of martians and runs away and attacks them. The martians give him the land rights to half of mars and tell him to prepare. The Earth appears to Explode to the people on mars. Nuclear war begins on earth.
  • The Watchers

    The inhabitants of mars recieve news of the destruction of australia due to a massive nuclear explosion, and are instructed to return to Earth. The luggage store is mobbed and sells all the suitcases it has in stock. All the people on mars return to earth.
  • The Silent Towns

    A lone straggler on mars lves in an empty colony, where he becomes aware of a woman living on mars. The two meet up, and the man dislikes the woman after he is caught off guard by her looks. He flees to another town and stays there alone. Nobody returns to mars.
  • The Long Years

    20 years have passed. A lone member of the fourth expedition lives on mars with robot replicates of his dead family. The captain of the fourth expedition returns to mars from a expediton to the outer solar system. He has found no other humans on mars. He plans to return to earth, but the member dies of a heart condition. The captain leaves the robots there and departs with his crew for Earth.
  • There Will Come Soft Rains

    A look at the Earth without humans. A solitary remaining house burns down.
  • The Million-Year Picnic

    A single family of human survivors land on mars. They expect a second family to arrive and plan to repopulate the human race as the new martians.
