Alexander Ulyanov, is hanged for plotting to kill Czar Alexander III to gain power over the russian throne. It went allittle something like this....Ulyanov and his companions began preparing for an assassination attempt on Alexander III. On March 1, 1887 the three of them, suspected by the police, were arrested in the Nevsky Prospekt, where they were going to throw their bombs into the Emperor's carriage, while he went ot visit his father's grave(how sick is that?). -

The Russian Social Democratic Workers Party was a revolutionary socialist political party formed around 1898 in Minsk(formerly in the U.S.S.R) to unite the various revolutionary parties into one party.After all that the RSLP split into Bolshevik and Menshevik fractions, with the Bolsheviks becoming the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.(Communism is BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GET THAT IN YOUR HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). -

In November 1917, it won the national vote in Russia's first-ever democratic elections. -
Bloody Sunday
Jan Bloody Sunday - Sunday, January 22, striking workers and their families gathered at six points in the city of St. Petersburg in Russia. They were organized and led by Father Gapon. Holding religious icons and singing songs, a crowd of more than 3,000 proceeded without police interference towards the Winter Palace, the Tsar's official residence.The number killed is uncertain but the Tsar's officials recorded 96 dead and 333 injured; anti-government sources claimed more than 4,000 dead. -

In the 1914 Battle of Tanenberg, over 30,000 Russian troops were killed or wounded and 90,000 captured, while Germany suffered just 20,000 dead or wounded. Austro-Hungarian forces allied to Germany were driven back deep into the Galicia region by the end of the year. In the autumn of 1915, Nicholas had taken direct command of the army, personally overseeing Russia's state of war. -

In 1915, things took a critical turn for the worse when Germany shifted its focus of attack to the Eastern front. The superior German army wa better led, trained and supplied. terrifyingly effective against the ill-equipped Russian forces, driving the Russians out of Galicia, as well as Russian Poland, during the Tarnów campaign. By the end of October 1916, Russia had lost between 1,600,000 and 1,800,000 soldiers, with an additional 2,000,000 prisoners of war. Rounding 5000000 total. -
Febrary Revolution
At the beginning of February, Petrograd workers began several strikes and demonstrations. On March 7 workers at Putilov, Petrograd's largest industrial plant, announced a strike. -
Death of the Imperial Family
During the early morning of July 16, at approximately 01:30, Nicholas, Alexandra, their children and their physician were taken into the basement and killed. According to Edvard Radzisky and Dmitri Volkgonov, the order came directly from Vladimir Lenin and Yakov gerdlov in Moscow. That the order came from the top has long been believed, although there is a lack of hard evidence. -

Jan 5th The Constituent Assembly in which the Bolsheviks are a minority meets for one day before being suppressed. Earlier that day a demonstration is fired on by Bolshevik units and several demonstrators are killed
Jan 28th Trotsky denounces the German Peace Terms as unacceptable and walks out of the peace negotiations at Litovsk. -
Russian Civil War Continued
The Russian Civil War brought death and suffering to millions of people regardless of their political orientation, The russian revolution is amazingly like the French Revolution(you'd think people would learn from history). Both revolutions took place because of economic dispute and problems with the lower class revolting against tsarist and monarchly rule.
