The Iron Ages began because of the development of any people needed weapons and tools made out of iron. The iron ages began at times and at different places in Greece.

Greece dived into many small city-states. If it was a small city-state it had to have a village and farmlands surrounding the small city-state. The small city-states were strongly patriotic and many people took public affairs. The best known small city-states in Greece are Athens and Sparta.

The first Olympics Games held at Olympia. The winning athletes receive a crown, respect, and honor. The Olympics were dedicated to Zeus, the king of all Gods.

Military leaders overthrow the monarchy because people believed they had some of their own rights. The military leaders wanted to prove that they had rights as well and not just the king.

Greeks started out using trade but that didn't work well with everyone. They used coins for business.

Solon was know as one of the seven wise men of Greece. Solon entered the government because of wealthy and he introduced humane law code.

After the lonian Revolt the Persians king, king Darius, wanted to extend its territory. So the Persians traveled by water to attack Greece. The Persians made a successful attack and took over Eretria and made that their base.

Both Athens and Sparta are very powerful city-states but they were allies. However the Athens began to rise in power but Sparta made very many victory's leaving the Athens bankrupt. Which lead both city-states to fight. Both Athens and Sparta very regained the army they had before.

•The Greeks often ate dinner while lying on their sides.
•They invented the yo-yo which is considered the 2nd oldest toy in the world after the doll.
•About one third of the population of some city-states were slaves.
•There were more city-states than just Sparta and Athens, Ancient Greece had around 100 city-states.
•The Romans copied much of the Greek culture including their gods, architecture, language, and even how they ate!
