Birth of Charles I

Charles I was born to Joanna of Castile and Philip I of Castile on the 24 of February. Charles had a very hard time to keeping his empire together because of Protestantism.

Holy Roman Emperor

Jun 28, 1519

On this very day, Charles I was crowned Holy Roman Emperor. His reign was difficult because it was placed during Protestantism. Many rebeled against him. He sought to unite all kingdoms under one empire, but his plans failed.

Birth of Ivan IV

Ivan was born to Basil III and Elena Glinskaya on the 25 of August. Many things lead to Ivans abnormal and abusive behavior. For one, his father died when he was at the age of 3 and his mother when he was at the age of 8. He was neglected from the members of court that were in charge of watching him after his parents death. As a boy he murdered and tortured small animals, yet still had a small taste for modern music and art.

Ivan the Terrible

In the years 1552-1556 Ivan IV, also kown as Ivan the Terrible, Ivan and his armies destroyed Tartar. The caused the extent of Muscovy to the Caspian Sea.

Death of Charles I

Charles I died on the 21 of September. He was considered a absolute monarch because he was the Holy Roman Emperor. He didn't have anyone to help or rule along with him.

Death of Ivan IV

Ivan the Terrible came obsessed death. So he called upon himself wiches to help him. However he died of a stroke. Ivan was a absolute monarch because he did not let others take his job and did not let others help him with his job.

Birth of Louis XIV

Sep 5, 1638

On September 5, 1638 baby Louis entered the world. However his father, the king died, giving Louis the reign at the age of 4. Since Louis was still to young to govern, his mother, Anne, and her cheif minister, Mazarin. This lead to some major conflicts including the civil war known as the Fronde.

The Sun King

The death of Marazin allowed Louis to atonish his court. Louis annouced that he would not have a chief minister to help him during his rule. He called himself "The Sun King" to represent God and his divine right. Through the years 1667-1678, Louis launched two wars. The War of Devolution which characterized his aggressive mood to foreign policy.

Birth of Peter I

Jun 9, 1672

Born on June 9, 1672 to Pyotr Alekseyevich. He gained reign after his brother, Ivan V died. When he did gain the throne, Peter took over great extences in order to reforms to reestablish Russia.

Peter the Great

Dec 16, 1709

Peter did many great things in order to restore Russia. He gained territory in Estovia, Latvia, Finland, and acess to the Black Sea by defeating the Swedish army. He also established St. Petersburg and was deemed "window to Europe."

Death of Louis XIV

Louis was an absolute monarch because he decided to rule France through diirect rule, not through a prime minister. He believed that he was sent by God and also he believed he was head the church in France.

Death of Peter I

Feb 8, 1775

Peter I died on February 8 without a nominating air. He was a great leader, but he was also cruel and unworthy. He can be considered an absolute monarch because he strenghened the government but also reduced nobility.
