Graduated High School
In May 1998 I graduated from high school with very little thought as to "what I wanted to be when I grew up". -
First attempt at college
The following fall, after graduating high school, I started taking basic classes. At this time I was leaning towards a career in pediatric medicine. -
Change of Plans
At this point I had an 18 month old toddler and 2 older step-children and I decided that I needed to contribute more to my family. So I started working at the daycare my kids attended and fell in love with it! -
Americorps
In 2004 all of kids were now in school and the opportunity to volunteer within their school arose. I joined AmeriCorps that fall. With this program I was an afterschool "teacher" and "co-teacher" during the day. AmeriCorps also allowed for a tuition stipend that would later allow me to go back to school. -
We are... Marshall!!
In the spring of 2007 I returned to college to obtain my teaching degree from Marshall University. -
BS in Elementary Education
In December 2011 I earned my BS in Elementary Education degree.!!!! -
Just a subbing....
My first subbing job was a long-term position, mid-year in kindergarten! Again only 3 weeks after graduating! -
Fifth Grade Rocks!!
I was then hired as a fifth grade teacher at an amazing and super small -Ranger Elementary!
