    In 241 B.C the first Punic war ends, and no side really wins. Carthage pays a fine to Rome and gives up Sicily. Hamilcar (Hannibles father) dies, leaving Hannible in charge of the troops. A treaty is signed that says that Carthage will not expand it's emire north of the river Ebro in Spain.
