    Theodore Roosevelt

    Theodore Roosevelt served two terms and is one of the more widely known presidents in the United States. He did much as the 26th president including passing the Food and Drug Act. He displayed power while in office and was very serious about having this position.
  • Food and Drug Act

    This act prohibited the selling of misbranded, adulterated food and drugs under the counter. It laid a foundation for the United States' first consumer protection agency, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

    Taft is most known for being the only person ever to have served as president and Chief Justice. He was the 27th president and the 10th Chief of Justice.

    Wilson became the 28th president in 1913. In 1917, he led America into war against Germany in the hopes it would “make the world safe for democracy.”
  • Germany Promised

    Austria got promised support from Germany for a strong response against Serbia. The aggression Austria-Hungary had towards Serbia along with Russian's support for Serbia after assassination grew from fears that, if either backed down, they would lose their credibility and prestige as great world powers.

    Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. They choose to take decisive action against Serbia knowing this risked war with Russia, who supported Serbia. Austria-Hungary was fully prepared to risk a war because of the Germans guaranteeing support. Because of the Balkan crisis, all of European was threatened with war.

    It began because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. Germany wanted break the French's alliance with Russia and was fully prepared itself take the risk of bringing about a major war, which it did. World War I was known as the “war to end all wars” because of the great amount of destruction and deaths it caused.
  • Germany Surrenders

    The loss of their allies and the failure of the Spring Offensive in mid to late 1918 resulted in German surrender and they signed a ceasefire.
