    Abraham's Journey
    This time is when Abraham had left Mesopotamia to go to Canaan. According to the Hebrew Bible Abraham was told by god to leave his home in Mesopotamia and take his family on a long journey to the west.

    The Exodus

    The Exodus
    This time is when Moses lead the Israelite's out of Egypt to Canaan. According to the Hebrew Bible Moses was also told by god to lead the Israelite's out of Egypt to be freed. Moses had asked the Pharaoh to be freed but the Pharaoh had refused. But not a while after many disasters happened in Egypt and the Pharaoh had no choice but to release the Hebrews. This is when Moses's journey to Canaan, called the Exodus, began. This journey through the Red Sea's parted waters took 40 years to complete.

    This time is when the Israelite's were threatened by the Philistines. Frightened, the Israelite's followed one person called Saul who could lead them through battle. Saul had become the king of Israel. He had some success as a military leader but not much as a king of Israel. He had never won the full support of tribal or religious leaders and they often debated on his decisions.

    This time is when after King Saul died a man which had known him became king. His name was David. He had slayed Goliath, the Philistine Giant. This had brought him to the attention of the king. He was known for his military skills and as a poet. He had used this attention to become king when King Saul had died. He had also built the capital of Israel in Jerusalem.

    This time is when King David's son, Solomon, becomes king of Israel. Solomon was a strong king. He expanded their kingdom and created many other nearby. He also traded with many of his allies such as Egypt and Phoenicia. This had made his kingdom very rich. He even built a main temple in Jerusalem called Temple To The Gods.

    This time is when Solomon had died (in 930 BCE) and people had debated about who should be king. Within about a year conflicts had risen to the division of his kingdom. The 2 kingdoms were now called Judah and Israel. These 2 new kingdoms lasted for a few centuries. But in the end both were conquered. Israel, by the Assyrians, and Judah by the Chaldean's. Israel fell apart because most of their people were scattered among the area.

    The Babylon Captivity
    This time is when the Chaldean's captured Jerusalem and destroyed Solomon's Temple To The Gods. They even enslaved many Jews taking them to their capital called Babylon. The Jews named this event as the Babylon Captivity. This enslavement lasted for about 50 years.

    This time is when the Persians conquered the Chaldean's and let the Jewish return to their Capital Jerusalem. But surprisingly many Jews never took this opportunity to go home. Instead they distributed themselves around the Persian Empire.

    This time is when the Jews that did return from the Diaspora rebuilt King Solomon's Temple of the Gods. This temple was called The Second Temple. The Jews were under Persian control until 330 BCE when the Persians were conquered by invaders.

    This time is when a Jewish family, the Maccabees, were sick and tired of foreign rule. And for about 100 years the Jewish ruled against their own king. However, their independence didn't last.

    This time is when the Jewish were conquered by the Romans. Even though Jewish leaders added to The Second Temple under Roman rule, life was difficult. There were many heavy taxes and brutal Roman rulers who had no respect for the Jews or their religion/culture. Some rulers even tried to force the Jews to worship the Roman Emperor.

    This time is when some Jews chose not to leave Jerusalem. These Jews started a Second Revolt against the Romans. But again the Romans had defeated the Jewish. After this the Romans had declared any Jew caught by them will be killed. This ultimately continued Jewish migration throughout the Mediterranean region.

    Revolt Against the Romans
    This time is when a group called the Zealots didn't like how the Jews acted towards the Romans. The ending result, they fought with the Romans finally standing up to them. This war had wrecked many building and cost many lives. In the end they had not won the battle and the Romans had burnt down the Second Temple. After this event the Jews had lost the will to fight and had surrendered. The Zealots however didn't want to surrender and instead took their own lives which was the end of the revolt.

    This time is when the Romans decided to punish the Jews for their revolt by killing many of them and taking much of the survivors as Roman slaves. They also took over the city. Other than the enslaved Jews thousands of them left Jerusalem after the destruction of the Second Temple. They didn't want to live in Jerusalem anymore.
