Bismarks rise to power
Otto von Bismarck was named head of the Prussian cabinet and later believed the people should hold authority in their country. He and King William I wanted to reach this goal by building up a strong army. They were denied the money to by the parliament, so Bismarck took the money from taxes and decied to bring power to Germany by driving out Austria. -
The Danish war
Delagates were assigned to help out wounded men and was a person who was not on either side just took soliders to there side of the fight if they are ingured. The delagates also went to the prisoners of war to see them and and just tell them stuff. Van de Velde also contacted an association in Copenhagen set up to assist the wounded and their families and he took steps to ensure that it was considered as one of the relief societies provided for in the resolutions of the 1863 Conference. -
The Seven weeks' war
The Seven weeks' war was fought between Prussia and the Italians versing Austria, Bavaria, Saxony, Hanover, and certain minor German states. Prussia's victory in the war enabled it to organize the North German confederation, The Treaty of Prague was what ended the war and it gace Schleswig-Holstein to Prussia. Then later also annexed Hanover, Hesse-Kassel, Nassau, and Frankfurt was given to Prussia so Prussia had separated the east and the west parts of the Prussian state -
The Franco-Prussian war
The Franco-Prussian war was the Northern part of Germany called the German Confederation and Prussia started a war against the Second French Empire. The Victory brought out the final part of the German unification. The Second French Empire was replaced by the French Third Republic. This all happened between 19 July 1870-10 May 1871. -
Unification of the German Empire
During the 47 years that the German Empire existed it emerged as one of the most powerful industrial economies in the world. Prussia and Germany came together to make the German Empire in 1871. The German Empire started in 1806. The German Empire ended in 1871. They grow larger by taking the territories of Alsace and Lorraine from France. The war ended by the Treaty of Versailles and also French got some territories back.
