The Acadian's did not side with the British, and so some Acadians had argued against them and as a result many died, even the innocent Acadian's. This is significant to Canada's identity, not necessarily in a positive way because the British killed many Acadians. This is because the Acadians had rebelled against the government. It also shows Canada's dark side, as we got rid of them.
