     Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia
    Austria-Hungary presented an ultimatum to Serbia. Vienna, intentionally imposed impossible demands to Serbia in order to be able to declare war on its neighbor for ‘orchestrating’ the assassination. Austria-Hungary was pressured from Germany for quick action. Kaiser Wilhelm II, who still saw the possibility of a peaceful diplomatic resolution to the conflict, but was outmaneuvered by the more hawkish military and governmental leadership of Germany—Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia

    The Treaty of Versailles was the Peace Settlement between the Allies and Germany at the end of the First World War. The German authorities had little choice but to accept the terms of the Treaty. The reparations on Germany were so heavy and strong, they lost a lot of their land. This harsh treaty resulted in Hitler wanting to get Germany's land back.

    The heads of national delegations met for a conference and agreed on major principles for the treaty. Basically, the treaty would define the structure and jurisdiction of federal authorities and government institutions of the constituent republics. It also introduced a federal judiciary, regulated the distribution of budgetary funds among the republics, and established a unified Soviet citizenship. This was set forth by the addition of many countries joining the world war.

    "Black Tuesday" is the day that the stock market crashed, officially setting off the Great Depression. Unemployement was high and many people became homeless. The Works Progress Administration was created as a result of the Great Depression. The end to the Great Depression came about in 1941 with America's entry into World War II.
