Democracy

Where It All Began

  • The Beginning

It all started after the Revolution, when the people had the idea to write down rules and laws to save them from conflict. All the people wanted was equality and to feel like they had a voice.
  • Putting the Car in Drive

The citizens have created a set of rules and laws. Our community was going to be a democracy so everyone was heard and everyone had a voice. This allows for everyone to feel equal and no one was higher or above one another.
  • Making a Change

Going over all of the laws and rules the citizens have come up with, we put them all onto one piece of paper and named it the Constitution. This is what we will all follow as a whole and not go against or else we would receive a consequence. The citizens also came up with reasonable consequences for the breaking of each law.
  • Election

Since the people of our community had a say in what goes and what does not go, it was time to set up an election. Our citizens get to vote on who the elected officials will be. This gave the citizens the right to vote for who they thought would make the community its best. We wanted to most trustworthy people to peak our community and not take it downhill.
  • The Time to Remember

All of our elected officials have been chosen and now the democracy has taken action. We have set a community that we all wanted and voted for. Our citizens feel equal and feel that they are heard. On March 15th, 1791, a democracy to never forget was created as a whole. Not as an individual.
