  • Executive Order #9066

    On February 19, 1942 President Roosevelt issued the Executive Order #9066 and it authorized any evacuation of individuals deemed a threat to the national security of the United States.
  • The Manhattan Project

    On December 2, 1942 the Manhattan Project was launched and it was a development that took place during WWII that produced the first nuclear weapons.
  • Opening Day of the Pentagon

    The Pentagon is the largest office building in the World and was opened on January 15, 1943. The Pentagon is located in Virginia and is the USA's Headquarter of the Department of Defense.
  • D-Day

    On June 6, 1944 American, British, and Canadian troops invaded the beaches of Normandy, France. This battle is known as D-Day and was the ultimate cause of the defeat of the Nazi Germans.
  • Death of President Roosevelt

    On April 12, 1945 President Roosevelt suffered from an unexpected stroke. Preceding his death Vice President Truman takes his position as well as the commander in chief of WWII.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki took place on August 6 and 9 in 1945. The bombings were both dropped by the US and landed in Japan. Japan eventually surrendered to the US and WWII soon came to an end.
  • 22nd Amendment

    On February 2, 1951 the 22nd Amendment is passed, stating that Presidents are now limited to two terms only.
  • 34th President of the US

    On January 20, 1953 Dwight D. Eisenhower is elected as the 34th President of the USA.
