The treaty placed many crippling restrictions on Germany and put the country in financial ruin. -

The war guilt clause blamed Germany for ww1. This left the Germans ashamed and humiliated. -

German currency became virtual worthless between this time period because of actions the Government took to get the country out of debt. -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression caused the western world to plunge into an economic depression after the collapse of the stock market. This caused countries such as Britian to not get involved in new conflicts while giving fascist rulers justification for state control of the economy. -
Japanese invasion of Manchuria
The league of nations failure to stop Japan from invading Manchuria eventually encouraged Hitler to begin breaking the rules of the treaty. -
Rise of Hitler
Hitler was granted plenary powers temporarily. He was allowed to act without parliamentary consent and even without constitutional limitations. He soon began to abolish any non-nazi political parties and organizations. -
Death of hindenburg
The death of Germany's president allowed hitler to take full control of the country. -
British and French appeasement of Hitler
Hitler was "given" the Sudetenland aswell as all areas with a german population of over 50%. This just made Hitler want more.
