    Political - A national internment operation in which 8000 Canadians of a German and Austro-Hungarian background were imprisoned in camps.

    Political - Nellie McClung started a petition with the Alberta Legislature stating that women should be given the right to vote. The right was granted 2 months later in municipal elections.
