Political - A national internment operation in which 8000 Canadians of a German and Austro-Hungarian background were imprisoned in camps. -

Political - Nellie McClung started a petition with the Alberta Legislature stating that women should be given the right to vote. The right was granted 2 months later in municipal elections. -

Political - This ended up leaving a 6 kilometer hole in the allied line which Canadians had to defend. Both sides had agreed not to use these. -

Economic - The Business Profits War Tax Act of 1916 made sure that all Canadian corporations having $50,000 or more in capital to file a yearly tax return. This helped with funding the government and their war efforts. -

In an effort of refusing to register for military service, anti conscription riots began in the streets of Quebec City. This resulted in 4 civilians dying or dead and plenty left injured. -

Germany surrendered and an armistice, an agreement to stop fighting, was signed. This effectively brought an end to the WWI!
