Crete, a large island in Mediterranean develops hieroglyphic script and extensive palace complex at Knossos that is Arbereshte. The Arbereshte are modern day Albanians living in Italy. They are the Arbereshte that write Albanian language differently- more similar to Greek alphabet than regular.

Our history currently accepts that Minoan's civilization was a part of Ancient Greek tribes as a result of its current political boards and history writings. However, the Linear A is still mostly deciphered and Scientists believe unlike Linear B- this represents a non-greek language similar to those of Arbereshte in South of Italy.

They are called the first Greeks because they were the first to speak the Greek language. Their largest city was called Mycenae with a population of around 30,000 people at its peak. Other Mycenaean cities that grew into major city-states during the height of Ancient Greece such as Thebes and Athens. The Mycenaeans developed trade throughout the Mediterranean. They built large trade ships to Egypt where they traded goods like olive oil and wine for metals and ivory.

Minoans became an easy pray for Mycenaean invaders that came to island from the Greek Mainland. The Minoan civilization began to weaken around 1450 BC. Archeologists think this might have been due to a natural disaster such as an earthquake. The Mycenaeans took over the islands of the Minoans and adopted much of the Minoan culture. They adapted the writing of the Minoans to their own language. Today this writing is called "Linear B."
