Dill Comes to Maycomb
Dill coming to Maycomb and befriending Scout and Jem put the whole story involving Boo Radley into motion. In the first chapter Scout and Jem discuss the events leading up to how Jem broke his arm. Jem stating that "It began the summer Dill came to us, when Dill first gave us the idea of making Boo Radley to come out." Dills obssesion with Boo Radley creates an obsession within the Finch children as well to see the town phantom. -
Jem and Scout start to find ojects in a tree
"We were walking past our tree. In its knothole was a ball of twine." They do not know whio is leaving these gifts but they take them anyway. They eventually come to the conclusion that it is Boo that is leaving these strange items for them. -
Atticus agrees to defend Tom Robinson
Atticus saying yes to defend Tom Robinson showed that even if the case was hopeless he would try his best. Everyone was telling him that it is a stupid idea and their was no point. He is a strong character and it showed through his determination to help Tom. -
A mob trheatens Atticus outside the jail.
“You know what we want,” another man said. “Get aside from the door, Mr. Finch.” The group of men that came in the night were there to kill Tom inside the Jail. Scour ends up persuading them to leave by talking polightly to Mr.Cunningham. -
Tom robinsons trial begins
The kids watch as thr trail happens from the colored balcony wth Reverand Skyes. -
Tom declared guilty
Although there was more than enough proof to free Tom, the jury stil decided to plead him guilty. Jem was very upset with this decision and the kids walk home with thier dad. -
Mr. Ewell threatens Atticus
Bob Ewell goes up to Atticus and threans him, saying he is going to "get him". He is upset becuase of the verdict of the trial. He won the case but lost whatever respect ofromthe community he had left. -
Tom is pronounced dead
Tom was shot down while he was trying to escape jail. The towns reactions were mixed. Some were indifferent and though it was his ethnicity and skin color that made him do it. Others were saddened becuase they knew he was innocent and mightve been let off. -
Mr.Ewell attacks Scout and Jem
Scout and jem are walking home from a school pagent and are scared becuase they think someone is following htem. Mr. Ewell attacks them by the Radley place and tried to kill them. Boo came out and saved them by stabbing Mr. Ewell. He carried Jem home becuse he broke his arm and passed out. Boo cared about these kids and it showed by how he helped thtem. -
Scout walks Arthur Radley back home.
'Please take me home." These are the only words spoken by Boo Radley in the whole book.He says this to Scout which shows his character and bashfulness of his personality. The mysterious spector is seen in full light.
