EDVAC
The EDVAC (Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer) is completed at Moore School by Mauchly, Eckert and Von Neumann. The EDVAC was a great invention since it made computers easier and faster to use. -
Hard Drive
IBM builds the first hard drive. It contains fifty 24 inch disks, has a capacity of 5 MB and costs over US$1,000,000 I thought that was crazy how much the first hard drive was worth but I gues it was a pretty big deal. -
The first mouse
Douglas Englebart develops a working mouse. This is a great inviention so you can choose to use applications without typing, therefore making life easier. -
ATM
The first Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) is installed This was definetly a great invention because this made life a lot easier; instead of having to drive to your bank you could just walk to an ATM machine. -

There are now about 1000 known computer viruses, up from 5 in 1988 This is a terrible but true fact, people just do this to annoy others and ruin there technology
