    Scientific Revolution

    Scientific Revolution
    1. Historians used the Scientific Revolution to describe how modern science emerged during the early modern period, when new developments in mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry changed the views of society about nature. Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei and Francis Bacon. Nicolas Copernicus was the first to realize that the Earth and the other planets revolved around the sun. Francis Bacon is the father of the “Scientific Method”. Galileo Galilei constructed the telescope.
  • Enlightenment

    Enlightenment
    Era in which an intellectual and scientific movement took place throughout Europe and later in North America. The enlightment relied more on scientific than what religion said as it was accustomed. John Locke, Rousseau, Montesquieu. At the time new ways of study were started and being applied, such as the literature, philosophy, science and increasing of the art. This gave freedom to the people so they can live freely by their own terms. Diderot wrote and published the “Encyclopédie”

    The first battles of the American Revolution were fought at Lexington and Concord, making them the first armed conflicts between UK and USA German soldiers made up around one third of the British troops. After the colonists declared independence in 1776, France joined on their side.

    Description: The french revolution was started by the french society who was tired of years of feudal oppression and fiscal mismanagement

    Important Characters: France’s King: Louis XVI, France’s Queen: Marie Antoinette, Napoleon Bonaparte
    Facts: Over 18,000 people were beheaded at the time of the event by the guillotine. Peasants had to pay taxes to the nobles while the nobility was exempted from paying taxes. 10,000 African slaves were set free after the revolution.
