    This chapter is an excerpt from his book "On the Moral and Political Principles of Domestic Policy", first published in Paris, in 1794 (actual month and date of publication are unknown). Robespierre justifies how the use of terror is needed in order to conserve the Republic which will lead France towards advancement as an empire. In this written account, Robespierre mentions that if there are people threatening the system of the "Republic" then they should be eradicated, by imperative measures.

    This is a written historical account of the Battle of Marengo that was fought on June 14, 1800 led under the then, First Consul Napoleon Bonaparte (part of the Napoleonic Wars); published in Paris in 1805, Date and Month unknown (originally written in French). It includes four maps of the battlefield and the tactics used in order to win the war against the Austrians. The Battle of Marengo marked the inception of the rise of Napoleon, and the French Empire under his regime.

    This illustrates the victory of the French under Chevalier de Levis against the Bristish army under General Murray. This battle took place during the Seven Years' War, and was fought on April 28, 1760 near a British Held Town in the Quebec French Province of Canada. The period of the Seven Years' War marked the conflict of the major powers (including Great Britain, France, Spain) fighting for the expansion of their empires.

Date and Month Unknown The painting depicts the authority and power of the Roundheads during the time of the English Civil War where royalists were being rounded and killed. The little boy in the painting is being interrogated by the parliamentarian soldiers regarding the wherabouts of his father. Tension, sadness and anxiety is predominant in the painting, as the father's fate rests on the hands of his boy's honesty.

    This photograph was taken in Dieffmatten, Germany (the photographer is anonymous). It shows three French soldiers (French "37") in firing position on parapet within the trench line. The guns they are holding are more accurate then the rifle and has a greater range of distance for combat, portraying the advancement of weaponry during The Great War; such advancement (as seen in the image) was needed in order for the triple entente to beat the central powers from becoming powerful states.
