    GB was fighting a war against France. President James Madison signed a Declaration of War against Britain on June 18, 1812. 2 result to that was that the U.S gain more independent from Europe and began to act like an independent country.

    John Quincy Adams approved the Tariff of 1828. The Souh ended up paying more for manufactuaring goods, but lost money on the raw materials they produced.

    Trail of Tears
    Andrew Jackson helped push teh indians removal act through congress. 3,500 of the 15,000 Creeks who set out for Oklahoma did not survive the trip. The Cherokee people were divided. Some wanted to stay and fight. Others thought it was more pragmatic to agree to leave in exchange for money and other concessions. After the indians were removed it gave the U.S gain land.
