The Terminator
In 2029 AI's are attempting to elimiate what remains of the human race. Both sides go back in time to 1984. The AI's sent a Terminator and a cyborg assassin to kill Sarah Connor. The human risistance sends Kyle Reese to protect her. -
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
In 1995, eleven years after the events of The Terminator, is ten years old and living in Los Angeles with foster parents. His mother Sarah Connor in an effort to stop future AI's from rising, blew up a computer factory and was remanded to a hospital for the criminally insane. While Skynet sends a new Terminator, the T-1000 to kill John Connor, future John Connor sends back a reprogrammed T-800 to protect his younger self. -
The Matrix
Set in a dystopian future in which reality as perceived by most humans is actually a simulated reality called "the Matrix", created by sentient machines to subdue the human population, while their bodies' heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source. Computer programmer "Neo" learns this truth and is drawn into a rebellion against the machines, which involves other people who have been freed from the "dream world". -
The Matrix Reloaded
Zion has confirmed the last transmission of the Osiris: an army of Sentinels is tunneling towards Zion and will reach it within 72 hours. Commander Lock orders all ships to return to Zion to prepare for the onslaught. Morpheus asks a ship to remain in order to contact the Oracle, in defiance of the order. The Caduceus receives a message from the Oracle, and the Nebuchadnezzar ventures out so Neo can contact her. -
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
For nine years, John Connor has been living off-the-grid in LA. Although Judgment Day did not occur on August 29, 1997, John does not believe that the expected war between humans and Skynet has been averted. Unable to locate John, Skynet sends a new model of Terminator, the T-X, back to 2004, to kill John's future lieutenants in the Resistance. The Resistence sends back a reprogrammedT-850 to protect T-X targets. -
The Matrix Relvolution
Neo and Bane lie unconscious in the medical bay of the ship Hammer. Meanwhile, Neo finds his digital self trapped in a virtual subway station – a transition zone between the Matrix and the Machine City. In that subway station, he meets a "family" of programs, including a girl named Sati, whose father tells Neo the subway is controlled by the Trainman, an exiled program loyal to the Merovingian. When Neo tries to board a train with the family, the Trainman refuses and overpowers him. -

Terminator Salvation
In 2018, John Connor leads a Resistance attack on a Skynet base. John discovers human prisoners and schematics for a new type of Terminator, incorporating living tissue. He is the only survivor of the assault after the base is destroyed in a nuclear explosion. Much later, though, an un-aged Marcus emerges from the base's wreckage and starts walking towards Los Angeles. -
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicals
The pilot episode is set in 1999 and introduces Sarah, her son John, and Cameron, a Terminator that has been re-programmed to protect John. They are being pursued by a Terminator, Cromartie, sent back through time to assassinate John and also by FBI Special Agent James Ellison, who initially believes Sarah is an insane criminal.
