    Ivan begins to draw pictures of items he sees. He draws bananas all the time. Mack sells his drawing at his gift shop because he is struggling with money.

    The big mall top is struggling to get people in the doors and make money. This leads Mack to do some things he usually would not do.

    Ivan finds a beetle in his domain and decides to draw a picture of it. Mack finds it hard to see what Ivan is drawing, but Julia notices that it is a beetle.

    Ivan asks Stella to tell a story. She decides to tell a story of a family of gorillas as a zoo. Ivan asks what a zoo is and finds that it is a way for good humans to make amends.

    In an attempt to make some more money, Mack buys a young elephant in hope she will attract more people.

    Ruby's parents were killed as a result of poachers. She was bought by a circus and then bought by Mack.

    It seems Mack's idea of getting a new addition to the other animals worked out. People are starting to come to the mall to see the baby elephant.

    From her wounds that were infected, Stella was unable to perform and became sick. Without treatment from the vet, she died.

    Stella's dying wish was to get Ruby away from the mall and into a better place. This is for her safety as well as health. Ivan does not know if he can pull through with the promise.

    Ivan talks about how he had a family. He had a sister named Tag and his original name was Mud. His family was killed. He saw his parents get their limbs cut off.

    Ruby was not following orders and Mack was not having it. He poked her at first and then swung it over her head. Julia watching did not like Mack attempting to hurt Ruby.

    Ivan drew the zoo and home with the finger paints he was given. Julia and George assembled it into a picture and put it up against the billboard sign.

    Due people holding "elephants are people too" sign outside the mall and an inspector coming to see the animals living condition, Mack had to give Ruby and Ivan away.

    After watching a small group of gorillas on the TV, he is introduced to them. Ivan remembers what wild gorillas must do to show dominance. He impresses the female gorilla and found his troop.
