Ylla is a martian and she dreampt of men coming to Mars. One of those men she ends up falling in love with. Ylla then tells her husband about the dream and he shows signs that he is very jealous of the dream. The dream is used to foreshadow humans coming to Mars. But more importantly it is to illistrate how martians can have feelings as well. -
The Earth Men
This is the second expedition and its very humorous. Scientist go to explain all about Martians and they are mistaken for insane martians. They explain about martians and their telepathy bt no one believes the. They are put into a insane issylum and later killed. -
Usher 2
A man named William Stendahl goes to Mars in hopes of creating the most iconic writings by Edgar Allan Poe. He decided to do this becauseof on Earth, people were to destroy all literature. He decides to create the home from the story The Fall From the House of Usher. He welcomes people into the home and kills them off based on the writings by Poe. -
The Old Ones
Two humans move into a new home on Mars. through the night, Anna and LaFarge hear a noise. They open the door to find their deceased son Tom. They do not know if Tom is a ghost or a martian, they have no idea what he is. Until one day comes and Tom disappears. This leave both Anna and LaFarge heartbroken. -
The Off Season
Parkhill moves to mars and decides that he wants to open a hot dog stand. When he opens the stand, a martian approaches him and he shoot and kills him. This causes other martians to come after Parkhill to speak to him. In the end, Parkhill just runs away. -
Silent Towns
Walter is stranded on Mars by himself all alone. Time goes on until Walter hears the phone ring and he hears that it is Jeuneive the last woman on Mars. He dreams that it is a beautiful woman. But when he sees her she isn't as attractive as he had thought. But when he sees that she brought a wedding dress with her, he runs away all by himself. -
The Logn Years
Dr. Hathaway lives all alone on mars with his wife Alice and their daughters Marguerite and Susan, son John. He then runs into Wilder and they discuss all the events that have happened within the 20 years. When Wilder finds out that Hathaway's family are robots he and his crew find it odd. In the end, Hathaway passes away and is burried in the family cemetary. Leaving only Wilder and the robots. -
There Will Be Soft Rains
In Allendale, California there is a home, it can do all the things typical humans do. All the humans are dead due to the radioactivity. The only thing left is a dog. The dog is to symbolize how rare life is on Earth and how between the war and technology it was the demise of mankind. -
Million Year Panic
A man Timothy and his familly go on a vacation to mars. When the rocket fails, the father decides that the family are to live on mars. They destroy all things that are to deal with their lives on Earth and are to start new. They were to promise not to make the same mistakes humans made while living on Earth. In the end, he takes his sons to meet the martians and they got along and realized that now...they are all martians. -

This is the fourth expedition to Mars. Twenty men were apart of the expedition. During the night, Spender, one of the men went into the mountains. When he came back, he shot and killed several of his men. Raising the quetion of whether he was still human or a martian. It was clear that he was brain washed by maritians. The captain went and tried to talk to Spender and he negotiated a plan that Spender would ran away and live on Mars. But in the end, Spender ended up beng shot by Captain. -
Night Meeting
Gomez meets a martian in the hills. The martian and Gomez talk about whether they are alive or dead. They cannot come to a decision so they agree to disagree and part ways. They both believe that it was just a dream. This chronicle is important because it touches on the fact that martians can touch on humans feelings and read minds. It shows how martians look at humans as being different like humans look at martians. -
The Fire Balloons
Two priests go to mars to build a chapel to show that the martians can come to the chapel to learn about our religion. What is ironic is that the martians do not wish to learn about our religion. The priests learn that all the martians are dead. the only living things on mars are blue spheres of fire. The priests believe that the spheres are souls and that they are very intelligent. The priests go to the planet to learn about the martians but they don't learn a lot but they feel holier.
