The Zimmerman Telegram was a coded message sent from Germany to Mexico. It stated that Mexico should ally with Germany in a battle against the Unied States. The British decoded the telegram and the U.S. saw it. That was when the U.S. was first brought into WW1.

Germany signed the armistice in Copeigne, France. The fighting of WW1 ended on the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month. Today that date is now known as Armistice Day or Veterans Day.
