    Asylums were created in order to treat the mentally ill when people decided they wanted to help treat them.

    The mentally ill were treated better once deinstitutionalized and with community health than they were in asylums.
  • Present Times

    Mentally ill people are treated better in today's times, with advances in psychological treatment and diagnostics. More doctors are readily available to help treat and check in with patients.
