    in 1911, Chinese nationalists ousted the last emperor of the Qing dynasty, Puyi. this created the fight in china between communism and nationalism

    In 1914, Gavrilo Princip shot Archduke Ferdinand of Austria Hungary. As a result, Austria Hungary attacked Serbia, which caused the rest of the European powers to join a struggle.

    The US entered the war because of the sinking of the Lusitania and because of the Zimmerman telegram, both that were created by the Germans. The Germans sank the US ship Lusitania and encouraged the Mexican government to declare war on the US.
