    This was an economic plan set in place by Mao and the rest of the Chinese governent in order to place a priority on industries and production. China became far moe urbanized and prosperous.

    Great Leap Forward

    The Great Leap Forward is known as an economic plan that began because Mao believed that China could have more after seeing the results of the Five Year Plan. Mao wanted to show the Soviet Union that Communism is not as powerful as Socialism. This plan included mass production of steel and long hours of work. The plan failed to reach the objetive of economic success.

    Sino-Soviet Split

    The Sino-Soviet split is the time in which China broke ties with the Soviet Union due to differences in government- China was a sovereignty/dictatorship while the Soviet Union was Socialist nation. The clash has its roots in the Soviet Union's belief that the only good way to run a government is with Socialism.

    The Cultural Revolution

    Mao began to use his power as a leader on the young people of China. His hope was to rid the country of its "impurities" to show that China was a strong, pure nation that could survive without being a Communist nation. Approximately 1.5 million people were killed in an effort to "purify" China.
