The Spanish thought that there were 7 cities of gold called cibola. He thought cibola was in Texas because cabeza de Vaca wrote it like it was. They did not find cibola cause it was a fable. He did find the grand canon. -
La Salle
He was from France and france was the country that challenged Spain for Texas. He descovered the Mississippi river delta. -
Ft saint Louis
Fort st Louis is located what is now known as Inez Texas. La Salle founded fort saint Louis. It failed because crops failed and houses where scarce. He was murdered by 5 people. -
