    Age of exploration.

    The Europeans started to explore to find the three g's. God, gold, glory. Like Columbus, he was looking for a westward route to India so he can trade with Asia. Most European explorers came from Spain, Portugal, and England. And a conquistador is a conquer. Also Cortes is the one who took down tenochtitlan and found new Spain.

    Pineada

    Pineda was making a map. His route: he started in Jamaica and went up to Texas but following the gulf coast.
  • Period: Jan 1, 1529 to Jan 1, 1534

    Cabeza

    Cabeza a was captured by the karankawa Indians. Sadly desise killed many Indians because there bodies couldn't take it. When he went back to Mexico, people thought they saw fabled land and great wealth in his stories.
  • Jan 1, 1540

    Cornado

    The Spanish thought that there were 7 cities of gold called cibola. He thought cibola was in Texas because cabeza de Vaca wrote it like it was. They did not find cibola cause it was a fable. He did find the grand canon.
  • La Salle

    He was from France and france was the country that challenged Spain for Texas. He descovered the Mississippi river delta.
  • Ft saint Louis

    Fort st Louis is located what is now known as Inez Texas. La Salle founded fort saint Louis. It failed because crops failed and houses where scarce. He was murdered by 5 people.
  • Moses Austin

    The Spanish let home make his colony because he promised the three g's. He would have to gather up people and prepare for people to be living there.

    To inspect Texas. He was sent by king Carlos the third. He said ditch the east mission and add defenses along the coast.
  • Mission San Fransisco Founded

    The purpose of a mission was to basically convert people to what they wanted. The Mexican government is leading the missions. The Mexicans were responsible for making the missions. The religion they were enforcing on the Native Americans was Catholicism. Most missions were not sucessful. Most missions failed because... A lot of reasons. They were forcing them, desise, etc.

    The U.S. now borders Spain. Brittish, US, Spain.
  • Mexican independents.

    They gained independence from Spain. The federal constitution of the United Mexican states. Coahuila.
  • Stephen F Austin

    An empressario is a person who has the right to own land in Texas. His colony was in east Texas. After the law of April 6, the Mexicans made him have no more slaves and had import taxes. The people were American immagrants. Hunger and sickness. Cabeza de Vaca, cornado. 1821-1836
  • Ferdonian Rebelion

    The goal was to try to seced from Mexico. The people. They kept complaining about them and the Mexican government made them upset to. The usa did not get there goal.

    His expedition was to inspect Texas. He was sent to look over the missions to see if they were working. He said more soldiers needed to be sent to Texas.

    It banned usa immagration. The empresario contracts were broken. Banned any extra slaves. They raised import taxes.
  • The convention of 1833

    To stop the stopping if immagration. SFA.
  • SFA arrested

    They thought the letter he wrote was an act of treason. He changed his mind of how he thought about the Mexicans.
  • The Battle of Gonzales

    It was fought over a 6 pound cannon that the Mexicans gave them. They wanted it back. The USA. Remember the alamo!

    Where a army surrounds a town or a building and forces to overcome or get what they want. The Mexicans. Texans.

    East. To escape from Santa Anna. He was threatening execution. A coward.
  • The alamo falls
