    This was designed by scientist George Stibitz and it was one of the first remote accessing computers. It would send information to a computer in New York which would calculate the problem and then send it back to the CNC

    This machine was used to break the Lorenz ciphers used by the Nazis. This reduced the decryption time from weeks to hours.
  • ERA 1101 introduced

    The ERA 1101 was one of the first commercially produced computers. While also being the first commercially produced computer, it also was used to break Japanese codes.

    The Ferranti Mark 1 was the first commercially available general purpose computer on the market. Due to loss of funding it never sold well.

    This computer was built to both store data and instructions. Made for scientific calculations it worked on calculations for the US atomic weapons program.

    The Model 701 also known as the Defense Calculator was used by research laboratories, aircraft companies, and the federal government. This was IBM's entry into the computer market.

    DEC PDP-1 introduced
    The PDP-1 sparked hacker culture who came to make the first computer game "SpaceWar!".
  • CDC 6600 supercomputer introduced

    CDC 6600 supercomputer introduced
    This super computer was capable of performing up to 3 million instructions per second. It was so meta that it had 10 mini computers inside the computer so that it could run faster.

    This computer by HP was targets towards the everyday consumer and was designed to fit in the average household.
