Apple launches the Macintosh
This was the first computer that was mouse-driven and had a graphic-user interface. It was very expensive for the time but played a huge part in computer technology. Macintosh created a portable computer
This initial Macintosh portable computer weighed 16 pounds and was well over $6,000 to purchase. It ended up being discontinued after a couple years but this was a big deal in the step towards where computers are today.
